Lyrics

The Long Goodbye                                   Words and Music by

We shared a wondrous life                     I won't ask you to stay
It's hard to understand                            But I'm praying that you'll try
But I have to say goodbye                       I'll love you anyway
Now while I still can                                  Despite The Long Goodbye

And though we've done it all                  I know it's hard to see
There's still so much to do                     A mind no longer there
Our spring will turn to fall                       But my heart will always be
As I winter without you                            As long as I breathe air

Remember all the smiles                        And in eternity
But if you need to cry                               My love will fill the sky
Love's never out of style                         As I watch and wait for thee
Despite The Long Goodbye                    But now the Long Goodbye
I'll watch and wait for thee
And those who still believe                    'Til you can be with me
In love so deep and pure                        But now The Long Goodbye
Won't feel we've been deceived
By the things we must endure

Ken is an incredible, sensitive man who has dedicated this song to the cause and fight toward finding a cure for Alzheimer’s.  He said the words and music came to him at once—so effortlessly that he felt the song was given to him.  His wish is that The Long Goodbye give strength to those fighting this disease and to honor the work done by the National Alzheimer’s Association.
